ABUJA – Teenz Global Foundation says it will hold a competition for 400 teenagers between the ages of 10 and 21 in selected schools in the FCT to promote indigenous languages and cultural diversity.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Founder of the organisation, Ms Ijeoma Idika-Chima, made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja.
Idika-Chima said that the purpose of the competition was to promote peace, social integration, indigenous languages and intercultural dialogue among teenagers.

The theme of Teenz Nigeria 2015 is: “Understanding Cultural Diversity’’.
“It is also focuses on thematic areas of Global Citizenship Education (GCED).
“It also to motivate schools and encourage the teaching and of learning of indigenous languages.’’
According to her, it is to sensitise parents on their role to ensure children speak and understand their mother tongue and to celebrate the Nigeria languages as the symbol of cultural heritage. (NAN)
