Kano –  An Islamic cleric, Sheikh Saleh Zaria, on Wednesday said his RASULUL A’AZAM FOUNDATION (RAAF) (a registered Shi’a organisation), would never support any attempt to cause disharmony among Nigerians.
Zaria said this in Kano at a one-day interactive session among RAAF, newsmen, security agents and other stakeholders in Kano.
He said RAAF, a registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission under CAMA Part C with registration number 18246, was against lawlessness and disrespect to constituted authority.
“We denounce any action by any person or group which goes contrary to the laws of the country.
“We are also against the idea of procession or blocking road for other users, terrorism and sedition,’’ he said.
He said members of RAAF would continue to operate within the ambit of the law of the land, seek redress in the courts, instead of taking laws into their hands.
Zaria said the interactive session was organised to build cordial relationship among the Shi’a group, Police, SSS and other security agencies.
“The idea behind the forum is to enlighten participants on what Shi’a ideology, as well as how Shi’a and secular state co-exist.
“To sensitise participants on the contribution of Shi’ism in nation building,’’ he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) also reports that the occasion was attended by representatives of the police, SSS, journalists and other stakeholders. (NAN)
