Fraudster dupes injured Kaduna pilgrim in Medina

Medina (Saudi Arabia) -An injured pilgrim from Kaduna State, Ibrahim Bala, has been duped by a fraudster in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

Bala told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Medina that a man who posed as a Good Samaritan collected his money and disappeared.

“I was duped by someone who was kind to me and offered to help buy a walking stick for me.

“I was injured on Monday and unable to walk properly after I fell down from the stair case around the Prophet’s Mosque.

“Some people had to assist in bringing me back to where we were lodged. It was at that point, the man offered to get a walking stick for me and I gave him a bundle of Saudi Riyals.”

Bala lamented that since the incident, he had not been able to receive medical attention as there were no officials of the Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board to assist.

The pilgrim said he had to suspend the mandatory visitations to holy sites in Medina due to his health condition.

“As you can see, I still have a lot of money with me but I don’t know where to go, I don’t care how much I will spend, I just want to get well.”

He called on pilgrims officials from the state not to abandon their responsibility of making things easy for the pilgrims.

NAN reports that efforts to get reaction from officials of the state pilgrims welfare board was unsuccessful.(NAN)
