JOS – Mr Silvanus Namang, the Zonal Director, North Central, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), said on Monday in Jos said that the corporation would soon embark on aggressive grassroots news coverage.
Namang said this when he paid a courtesy visit to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Zonal office in Jos. [eap_ad_1] He said that the corporation had embarked on a deliberate policy of sending reporters to each of the three senatorial districts in every state to drive the policy.
According to him, this will soon spread to all the local governments areas.
“We need to adequately cover the people in the rural areas.”
Namang said that the FRCN was willing to cooperate with NAN to achieve its ideal, not as a competitor but as a partner.
Responding, Mr Ephraims Sheyin, NAN Zonal Manager, said the the agency was willing to partner with the FRCN in that regard.
Sheyin said that NAN also had a grassroots policy which allowed rural dwellers to express their views. (NAN)
