Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Former President Goodluck Jonathan has reminded Nigerians that his predictions when he was in power regarding the benefits his government offered that were not appreciated are coming to pass.
Jonathan while in power said he was the most abused and insulted President in the world, added that, when he leaves office, Nigerians will all remember him for the total ‘freedom’ they enjoyed under him.”
The former President reminded this to Nigerian when he posted a quote he made on his Facebook page in 2014 to the effect that: “I am the most abused and insulted President in the world but when I leave office, you will all remember me for the total ‘freedom’ you enjoyed under me.”
This is coming after the Buhari-led federal government said it will treat hate speech as terrorism and terrorist act.
Also the Lt. Gen Buratai led Nigerian Army had after holding meeting with President Buhari with other service chiefs, shortly after his resumption after medical vacation in London, announced that it will be monitoring social media post.
This reminder by former President Goodluck Jonathan has generated mixed reactions from Nigeria; while many have eulogized him for upholding the tenents of democracy despite direct and undiluted insult on his person and office, other have descended hard on him, accusing him of paying lips services to corruption.
