This is contained in a statement signed by Stella Uchegbu, the commission’s Public Education Officer, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Thursday.

The statement said the award was organised by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in partnership with NIHILENT Global Consulting Company.

It said the award presentation was the highpoint of a 3-day programme on E-Nigeria with the theme: “Creating Market Opportunities for Indigenous ICT Products and Services”.

It said NITDA was the prime agency for E-government implementation, internet governance and general IT in Nigeria.

According to the statement, Mr Peter Jack, Director-General, NITDA, described the award as a deliberate but sustained efforts by the agency to identify and recognise significant achievements in the area of E-Governance.

“The award aims to encourage incremental innovations in successful E-Governance solutions and promote and exchange experiences in solving problems, mitigating risks, resolving issues and planning for success,’’ Jack said.

Receiving the award on behalf of the FRSC management, Kayode Olagunju, Assistant Corps Marshal, Policy, Research and Statistics, expressed the appreciation of the FRSC management and staff for the gesture.

Olagunju dedicated the award to Osita Chidoka, the immediate-past Corps Marshal, and over 500 ICT staff of FRSC. (NAN)
