Osogbo, – The Osun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) said on Wednesday that it issued 151 new number plates to motorists in the state in April.
This is contained in a statement issued by the FRSC state command in Osogbo.
According to the statement, the figure was submitted to the commission by the Osun Board of Internal Revenue, the department responsible for the issuance of new number plates in the state.
The figure covers number plates for cars, buses, articulated vehicles and motorcycles produced in the state within the period under review.
It said also that the FRSC works in partnership with the State Board of Internal Revenue (SBIR) and the Vehicle Inspection Offices (VIO) in the registration, vehicle inspection and production of the new number plates.

“The FRSC is not a revenue generating body; it only produces the number plates after they are paid for and issued by the SBIR, NAN learnt,’’ the statement said.
The FRSC in the statement enjoined motorists to follow due process in number plate procurement, stating that applicants could visit the FRSC for guidelines. (NAN)
