Sokoto – The Sokoto Education Development Trust Fund (SEDTF) said it had named its newly constructed 150-seat capacity Computer-Based Test Centre ( CBT) after a former governor of the State, Sen. Aliyu Wamakko.
The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that this was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman of the fund’s Board of Trustees ( BOT) and a second republic President, Alhaji Shehu Shagari.
The statement, which was made available to newsmen in Sokoto on Sunday, said that the decision was taken at the fund’s monthly meeting.
”The gesture was to honour the former governor and a now a Senator for his meritorious service to the state.
” The fund considered his immense support to its programmes throughout his eight-year tenure as the executive governor of the state.
”It is in view of this that the board proposed, deliberated and approved the naming of the centre as Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko Computer Based Test Centre,” the statement said. ( NAN)
