ABUJA – A Gudu Upper Area Court in the FCT on Wednesday sentenced a 25-year-old furniture maker, Isaac Terna, to seven weeks imprisonment for criminal trespass and theft.
The judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, however, gave Terna, who resides opposite Redeemed Church, A.Y. A, Asokoro, Abuja, N8,000 option of fine and warned him to desist from criminal activity.
Kagarko ordered that the stolen item should be returned to the owner within 30days from Sept. 24. [eap_ad_2] Earlier, the prosecutor, Cpl. Christian Munoye told the court that one Mgbogu Samuel of Poka Consult and Safety Solution, National Council for Women Society Complex, Area 11, Abuja, reported the matter at the Garki Police Station on Sept. 22.
He said that Terna trespassed into the complainant’s office at the said address and stole an HP laptop valued at N120, 000.
The prosecutor alleged that the laptop was eventually recovered from Terna by the police.
He added that the offence committed contravened Sections 348 and 288 of the Penal Code.
Terna who pleaded guilty to the charges, begged for leniency. (NAN) [eap_ad_3]
