Minna – The Federal University of Technology ( FUT), Minna, on Monday bagged the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO)’s 2017 Gold Award in recognition of its sound ethical conduct.
A statement by Mrs Lydia Legbo, the institution’s Public Relations Officer, said the award was presented to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Musbau Akanji, by CESVO’s Director, Mr Salihu Yakub in Minna.
Yakub described the university as an institution headed by a vice-chancellor who had demonstrated the highest level of dexterity.
He saif the university was being conferred with a Certificate of Credence and enlisted among the 50 ethically sound institutions in Nigeria for 2017, based on assessment carried out by whistle blowers.
During the occasion, Akanji was also presented with a public officer performance appraisal score card, where his personal leadership trait was independently assessed in the areas of innovative leadership and ethical conducts.
Other areas include time management skill, Servicom compliance, integrity, staff/student coordination, welfare and discipline.
The registrar of the institution, Mrs Victoria Kolo, was also conferred with an ethical conduct award certificate, for demonstrating the highest level of professionalism, dedication, self discipline and compliance to public service rules.
Akanji expressed gratitude to the centre for the honour done to the university. (NAN)
