Mouthpiece of Northern Nigeria, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), has expressed confidence the new Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari will work for the peace and progress of Nigeria.
ACF, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Yawe described Gambari as a patriot who will put all his wealth of knowledge and experience at the disposal of the President.
According to the statement: “The Arewa Consultative Forum today received with great joy news of the appointment and swearing in of Professor Agboola Ibrahim Gambari as the new Chief of Staff to the President.
“Professor Gambari is a distinguished Nigerian who is coming into office as Chief of Staff with an illustrious career, spanning academia, government and international diplomacy.
“He obtained his Bsc degree at the London School of Economics and moved on to Colombia University where he obtained his MA and PHD. He then launched his academic career at City University New York which eventually took him to ABU Zaria where he left as a Professor and head, political science department.
“In government, he has served as Director Generated, Nigerian Institute of International Affairs; Minister of External Affairs; Ambassador\Permanent Representative of Nigeria at the UN. His sterling qualities at the UN saw him heading many sensitive committees in the UN system and eventually becoming the UN under Secretary and special adviser on Africa to the UN Secretary General.
“The Forum is confident that Professor Gambari being the patriot that we know, will put all his wealth of knowledge and experience at the disposal of the President for the peace and progress of Nigeria.”
