Sundiata Post – Nigerian activist and publisher, Omoyele Sowore has slammed the Kano state government after it revealed that the corruption case file of the former governor, Umar Ganduje was taken by protesters.
Sowore said the statement should not put a hold on the trial of the former governor of Kano State.
This was contained in a press statement made available to newsmen in Kano by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
“It is very unfortunate that enemies of Kano State hired undesirable elements to vandalize one of the historic public buildings with a mission of averting corruption charges against the Ag. National Chairman of APC and former governor of the state Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his family and aides,” Tofa said.
Sowore, in reaction, explained that the statement from Kano State government could be likened to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu‘s statement that the corruption case file of President Bola Tinubu got burned during the 2020 Endsars protest.
On his X handle, on Wednesday, Sowore said, “They should get a copy from Bello Galadanchi (a satirist and skitmaker, known as Dan Bello). Talk of jokers in high places. So, are all the documents with the courts alone, and are there no copies with investigators, lawyers, and prosecutors?
“Reminds me of how the Lagos State government claimed Bola Tinubu’s corruption case files were burnt during #EndSARS.”
