Berlin – German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, on Thursday called on the international community to stand together in the fight against terrorism in the wake of the deadly attacks in Paris.
“We know this is an attack on our fundamental values, our way of life and on freedom.
“Freedom-loving countries around the world must now stand together to ensure that the perpetrators are found and that our values are protected,” Merkel said.
She said that Germany stood side by side with France, as Paris formulate plans on how to react to the attacks on the French capital.
The chancellor however did not give any concrete proposals on how Germany would back its key ally in what French President Francois Hollande has described as war against terrorism.
She joined other top German officials in insisting that people should not mix up the refugee crisis with the global terrorism threat.
