ABUJA – The National Road Safety Commission of Ghana is to replicate the traffic management style of the Federal Road Safety Commission, its Executive Director, Mrs May Obiri-Yeboah, has said.
Obiri-Yeboah, who led a delegation of the commission to understudy the FRSC, told newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday that there was need for safety organistions in the sub-region to share experiences.
“Road safety is a shared responsibility, we need to go round and look at the good practice in traffic management in some of our West African countries.
“We have come to Nigeria to see what the FRSC is doing in all aspects of their works’’, she said.
Obiri-Yeboah said the team, which would spend two days in the country, would tour FRSC facilities including its central data base to replicate the model in Ghana.
Mr Osita Chidoka, the Corps Marshal of the FRSC, said the visit was in furtherance of the collaboration between the two countries on road traffic management.
Represented by Mr Boboye Oyeyemi, Deputy Corps Marshal, Motor Vehicle Administration, Chidoka said the collaboration would enable both commissions to share experiences in improving on safety management in their respective countries. (NAN)
