LAGOS – David Grevemberg, Chief Executive Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) on Friday

commended the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth team for ranking number one in 2014.
Grevemberg, the former 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games Chief Executive said the games were the world best sporting experience for 2014.
According to a press release by the CGF, Grevemberg commended the efforts of fans and sportsmen for a successful event.
“I want to say a fantastic thank you to everyone who put such energy and effort into the Glasgow 2014[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″] Commonwealth Games.
“Am excited to know that people across the UK ranked us as their number one positive world sporting experience of 2014,’’ the Chief Executive was quoted.
The statement noted that Grevemberg was impressed with the perception of people about the event even after six months of the games hence the award of the most feel good event of 2014.
“What a great way to mark exactly six months on from an Opening Ceremony which launched on July 23 a festival of sport and culture which people across the Scotland, the UK, Commonwealth and beyond could feel part of.
“Six months on, all those who contributed to the Games can feel proud of their achievements from the athletes of the Commonwealth who competed to the thousands of volunteers and staff who delivered the Games.
“The pleasure they shared and the special place they have won in the nation’s hearts,’’ Grevemberg quoted as saying. (NAN)
