Golden Eaglets defeat Amakson FC in friendly

Nigeria U17 team defeated Amakson Football Club 3-1 in a friendly encounter played at the FIFA Goal Project turf in Abuja. Goals from Lazarus John and a brace from Victor Osimhen ensured the Golden Eaglets continued with their impressive run as they step up preparations for the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup. Amakson got their solitary goal through Nura Abdullahi, according to a report from Goal.com

The Golden Eaglets placed fourth at this year’s African U17 Championship in Niger Republic to qualify for the World Cup where they will be hoping to defend the crown they won two years back in the United Arab Emirates when they slug it out with hosts Chile, Croatia and USA in Group A of the preliminary round.

Amuneke’s boys will face the United States U17 in the opening match of the competition on October 17, 2015 at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos, Santiago.
