Ilorin – Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara, has commiserated with the government and people of Osun over the death of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, Olubuse II.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Ilorin by Abdulwahab Oba, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Ahmed described the late traditional ruler as an `icon of International status.’
He said that the late Oba bestrode the traditional institution with candor and panache.
He said that the passage of Ooni marked a glorious close of a glowing chapter in the tradition and culture of the Yoruba nation.
Ahmed described the death of the late monarch as a “monumental loss’’ to the country’s traditional institution and the nation at large.
He said that late Ooni would be greatly missed not only by the people of Ile Ife and Osun State but the entire people of Nigeria.

The governor prayed God to grant the departed soul eternal rest.
He also prayed God to grant the family of the deceased, the people of Ile Ife and Osun the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. (NAN)
