Ilorin – Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara on Friday congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on his 21st coronation anniversary.
A statement issued in Ilorin by Ahmed’s Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba, quoted the governor as describing the 21-year reign of the emir as “eventful and beneficial to the entire people of the state.’’
The governor also lauded the traditional ruler for his continuous support to his administration.
“In the last 21 years on the throne of your forefathers, you have demonstrated exemplary leadership and lived above board while remaining the rallying point for your subjects.
“As a spiritual leader and custodian of culture and tradition, the emir has played significant roles in the promotion of inter-faith dialogue and harmony.
“He has also helped socio-cultural cooperation, communal living and peaceful co-existence among the diverse peoples,” the governor said.
Ahmed prayed God to grant the emir the required wisdom and sound health to witness more of these auspicious moments in life.
