Maigatari – Gov. Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa on Wednesday said the he had inherited 21 road projects with liability of N52 billion from his predecessor.
Badaru disclosed this at the Flagg-off of western bye-pass phase II road project in Maigatari.
He also said that his administration had so far spent N6 billion to complete some of the projects inherited from the last administration.
The governor said despite dwindling economy, the state government had prioritised its projects and embarked on viable ones to boost socio-economic activities of the state.
Badaru said the Maigatari-Galadi and the Western bye pass road projects, when completed, would open up the area and expand business activities in Maigatari-Niger border.
He said the projects would also enhance activities of Maigatari Export Processing Zone (EPZ). (NAN)
