Gov Bello Commends FUT Minna For Championing Entrepreneurship Education

Minna  –  Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger has commended the management of the Federal University of Technology, Minna for championing entrepreneurship education in Nigeria.

Bello, represented by Niger Head of Service, Alhaji Sule Yabagi, made the commendation in FUT Minna, during an Entrepreneurship Week organised by the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business Studies of the school on Friday.

The theme of the week is: “Entrepreneurship, Tool for Technological Advancement in Nigeria.”

The governor noted that some institutions in Nigeria only offered entrepreneurship as a course, but that FUT, Minna decision to dedicate a department to entrepreneurship programme was commendable.

“Entrepreneurship education is a lifelong process that we need to embrace; starting early from the elementary school and progressing through all levels of education.‎

“It is the only way to prepare our youths and adults to succeed in the present entrepreneurial economy,” he said.

Bello explained that the laudable benefits of entrepreneurial studies in Nigeria could not be over emphasised.

The governor tasked lecturers and instructors in other departments of the institution to imbibe entrepreneurial behaviour and skills attributes in their teaching.

He commended the department for organising the event, saying that his government was proud of the institution’s achievements. ‎(NAN)
