Daura – Katsina State Government on Friday pledged to ensure full protection and safety of residents of the state.
A statement by Abdu Labaran, media aide to Gov Aminu Masari, said all residents, irrespective of where they hail from, were free to pursue their lawful businesses in the state.
It stated that the assurance was necessary considering the ongoing irredentist activities in the south east, stressing that Nigeria remain an indivisible nation where all citizens have right to live anywhere.
The statement described the heightened tension as baseless and unnecessary, “adding that we are all Nigerians irrespective of religious, political, tribal or regional considerations.”
The government pledged to “safeguard, protect and guard jealously the corporate existence of the nation and that of people residing in every part of the state.
“Here in Katsina we are accommodating and receptive to our visitors or residents and we would not compromise the safety of our residents,” it emphasized.
The statement warned mischief makers against any act of breach of the peace in any part of the state.
