Wamba (Nasarawa State) – Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, on Saturday laid the foundation for the construction of 26 classroom blocks at Mararaba Gongon, Wanda Local Area, under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) projects.
The governor who spoke, said the SDGs projects would be extended to all the 13 local government areas in the state.
Sule said the projects would be executed in eight primary schools, five junior secondary schools and 13 senior secondary schools.
He explained that the projects also included provision of offices for the staff and head of schools, solar lighting boreholes and toilet facilities.

Earlier, Abubakar Murtala, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the governor on SDGs, said that due process was followed in awarding contracts for the job.
Murtala said that the SDG office in the state has put machinery in place to ensure that contractors adhere to contract specification.
He called on benefiting communities to monitor the progress of work and report any shape practice to his office or through the website of the state’s SDG office for prompt action.
Abubakar Abbas, Executive Chairman of Wamba Local Government Area, expressed gratitude to the governor for bringing development to Mararaba Gongon, adding that the project would go a long way in transforming the community.
