Kaduna-The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, an umbrella body of Fulani herdsmen, on Monday urged the Kaduna State Government to take measures to curb incessant rustling of cattle in the area.
Chairman of the association in the state, Alhaji Ahmad Suleiman, made the call at a meeting with Gov. Mukhtar Yero at the Mando Livestock Office in Kaduna.
Sulaiman said the association was faced with conflicts between cattle breeders, farmers, and some communities in the area.
He urged the government to intervene by putting an end to the continued raid on the stock of members of the association.

He said government should initiate workable conflict resolution mechanism to enhance mutual respect, understanding and peaceful coexistence between the herdsmen and other communities.
Responding, Yero assured the group of his administration’s continued collaboration with security agencies to curb cattle rustling and encourage peaceful living among the diverse people of the state.
He enjoined the herdsmen to work closely with traditional leaders and relevant authority to avert future crisis.
The governor said the administration would continue to do its best to guarantee the welfare and well-being of all citizens. (NAN)
