Makurdi – The Benue Governor-elect, Dr Samuel Ortom, said he would use his first 100 days in office for reconciliation.
Ortom said this when five former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirants in the state visited and congratulated him in Makurdi on Friday.
He said that if the people were united they could do much more than if they went their separate ways.
The governor-elect said the aspirants were experienced and patriotic citizens of the state, adding that he would rely on them in order to deliver the dividends of democracy.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
Earlier, Mr Hingah Biem, while congratulating Ortom, urged him to reconcile the people of the state, transform the state and initiate policies that would encourage people, particularly youth to respect constituted authorities.
Biem said the people of the state had spoken and that they had accepted their verdict.
He said the other contestants had resolved to give the governor-elect the needed support to enable him to succeed. (NAN)
