Abuja  –   Gov. Ishaku Darius of Taraba has paid for 16,000 tickets in the `Win a Trip to Israel’ raffle draw promo to the Holy Land.

This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Celestine Ogugua, Head of Media, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Friday.

Ishaku, according to the statement, bought the tickets so that the 16 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the State would share 1000 tickets each for the draw.

“I paid for 16,000 tickets so that each LGA will share 1000 tickets, to enable those who cannot afford the cost of pilgrimage to Israel to benefit from the draw’’, he said.

The statement also said the governor promised to sponsor 100 youths to participate in the Commission’s Youth Pilgrimage to enable the youths in Taraba state to benefit from the Skills Acquisition Programme.

“I know the youths will learn skills that will make them independent’’, he said.

The statement said the NCPC boss, Mr John-Kennedy Opara, said the ‘Win a Trip to Israel’ was to give every Christian the opportunity to embark on holy pilgrimage.

The statement said the trip to Israel was at no cost to the state or federal government in view of the economic situation of the country.

It said Miss Sapdira Bem and Mr Woburi Ezekiel emerged winners in the ‘Win a Trip to Israel’ raffle draw of Taraba State.

The draw is powered by the Fortune Game Nigeria Limited, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, National Lottery Regulatory Commission and Christian Association of Nigeria. (NAN)
