
ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – The Imo Community Association, Abuja, has pledged its support for the governorship aspiration of Dr Charles Ugomuoh, a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police.

Ugomuo said “We need to secure Imo, reinvent Imo and Industrialise Imo. The issues of unemployment, insecurity, poor healthcare, poor education facility and the need to restore the good social life of Imo people will be adequately tackled. Infrastructure, trade and agriculture will be given appropriate attention. The Political will to secure Imo people can never be compromised and will be decisive. Support AIG Ugomuoh . It will be a new dawn”.

Members of the organisation expressed their readiness to move to Imo State when required to work for the actualisation of Ugomuoh’s aspiration. They said Ugomuoh’s background as an astute administrator, technocrat and security expert put him in a vantage position to rescue Imo State from its present parlous situation.
President-General of ICA, Chief Damian Onuoha, said Ugomuoh has what it takes to restore the glory of Imo State.
Speaking on behalf of the women, Ekwere Chika, President-General, Umuada Igbo Development Association, promised to mobilise women to campaign for Ugomuoh. She said the Labour Party governorship aspirant has committed to women and youth development in Imo State.

A former senatorial candidate in the 2019 general elections, Ugomuoh is known to be an astute administrator, technocrat, and security expert. He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) USA.
A holder of Doctor of Vet Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Ibadan, MSc (microbiology) from the University of Lagos PGD (Banking & Finance) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Ugomuoh also holds Membership Diploma of the Vet Surgeons of Nigeria, Abuja.
He told Sundiata Post in an interview that the need for people oriented government and to institute good governance in Imo State is the motivating factor for his ambition to be the governor of Imo State.
