KANO – The Kano State Government has approved N52.5 million for the April salaries and two months’ salary arrears of players and members of the technical crew of Kano Pillars Football Club.
The state’s Commissioner for Information, Dr Umar Faruk, announced this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting in Kano on Wednesday.
Faruk said the salary arrears were for the months of February and March.
He said the council also approved N14 million for the payment of 2014 books allowance to 289 of the state’s indigenes studying Medicine in institutions of higher learning across the country.
“The council has also approved N96 million for the renovation of the Audu Bako College of Agriculture at Dambatta, while it also approved N12 million for the payment of quarterly allowances to the Shura Council.
“Furthermore, the council approved N6 million for the relocation and replacement of electric poles along BUK Road in the metropolis,’’ the commissioner said.
He said government took these decisions as part of its determination to develop infrastructure to improve the welfare of the people.(NAN)
