Abuja – Music Africa Awake (MUAFA), an NGO, has advocated the repackaging of African heritage in the global market, using the music, fashion, food and the arts mediums.
Mr Vincent Omoko, President of MUAFA Nigeria, made this call at the inauguration of its FCT chapter.
Omoko said the organisation seeks to discover, develop and promote young talents in music, fashion arts and crafts that are Africa-oriented.
“Nigeria is endowed with enormous and vibrant talents that spread across music, fashion, food and other areas.
“If these talents are properly groomed, mentored and branded, Nigeria’s economy will grow accordingly”, he said.
“Our mission is to advocate and repackage the African heritage in the global market, using different vehicles such as music to showcase Africa.
“We are out to bring back the dignity and values of African music and culture in order to position Africa for a sustained global recognition.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
