Awka – The Organisation of Igbo Cultural Heritage International has launched a scheme on giving out loans to prospective co-operatives and individuals, to enhance their businesses on a zero per cent interest.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports in Awka that the leader of the group, Rabi Ogugua on Thursday, said that the aim was to encourage the masses to contribute meaningfully to the society.
“We are giving out loans to serious minded people without adding interest on it because that was what we learnt from the scriptures in Leviticus.
“We want to see our people being productive so that we can grow as a nation for that is what the Israelis are doing that is making their economy grow in all ramification.
“The loan process entails individuals obtaining our loan form with N5,000 while co-operatives N2,500 for them to be eligible to our loan of minimum of N100,000 and maximum of N500,000 in any area of business,” he said.
A resource person at the occasion, Mrs Anat Perl of Anat Perl Development and Turnkey Project in Israel, spoke on how to get it right when investing huge sum into any business.
“You can’t take away perseverance, commitment, determination and a positive mind set for any business entrepreneur to make it.
“This kind of opportunity of obtaining loan without interest should be grabbed with both hands for that is how most successful business owners got to where they are today,” she said.(NAN)
