GOMBE – The Talba Gratitude Forum, an NGO, has called on Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State to re-contest the governorship election in 2015.
Alhaji Bala Magaji, Chairman of the organisation made the call at a dinner in respect of the governor in Gombe on Sunday night.
According to him, this will enable the governor to continue with the good work he is doing for the people in the state.
He said that the style of Dankwambo’s administration within three years had brought a lot of positive changes, not only to the state, but also across the North East sub-region of the country.
The chairman commended the governor for retaining all government functionaries of the previous administration and involving politicians of all political parties in his government.
“It must be acknowledged that part of the essential outcome of the governor’s approach to governance and method, is that Gombe State has changed.
“We are grateful to Talba (Dankwambo); we shall therefore prove this in 2015,” he said.
He further called on people in the state, to reject political terrorism.
Responding, Dankwambo thanked the group and people in the state for supporting him to lead the state.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Tha’anda Rubainu, said that without the peoples’ support, the administration would have not have succeeded.
He said that to ensure success and transparency in the state, 11 committees covering various sectors, were set up from the inception of the regime, to work out the way forward.
Dankwambo also called on the group to continue to enlighten the people on the programmes of the government.
He advised politicians to always play politics according to the rules for peace to reign. (NAN)
