Abuja- A group, Students in Nigeria Re-awakening Initiative on Sunday appealed to Nigerian students to be wary of desperate politicians seeking to clinch power by all means.
Chairman, Board of Trustees of the group, Mr Nathan Oguwike, made the call in Abuja at a public presentation of a movie entitled “Dance of Vipers’’, produced by the group.
“Nigerians should resist any person or group of persons that tends to get power by means of violence; they must vote according to their conscience.
“The movie, `Dance of Vipers’ which was shot in the southern part of Nigeria is a play which mirrors the evil act of terrorism currently in Nigeria.
“Dance of Vipers uses pre-colonial setting and is a work of fiction to portray the unattractiveness of terrorism, thereby disabusing the minds of young Nigerians from joining the bandwagon, ’’Oguwike said.

According to Oguwike, our group is not a political association, but a group out to encourage students to make the best use of their talents.
He said that the group was acting as a think-tank for all students to inculcate the reading culture in them.
In his remarks, the director of the movie, Mr Peter Chukwuemeka, said that producing the movie was a big challenge, owing to financial constraints.
“It is a very big challenge producing the movie; the characters in the movie are all students and it was not easy coming up with the movie.
“Part of our challenge is dearth of financial support; students don’t have money but we give glory to God for supporting us,’’ he said.
Also speaking, the National President of the group, Mr Vambee Terese, explained that the group aimed at encouraging students to attain the greatest height possible in their chosen fields.
He advised students to be of good behaviour anywhere they found themselves. (NAN)
