LAGOS – The Women Group of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Friday promised to teach women entrepreneurs how to exploit international linkages to promote businesses.
The group gave the assurance in a statement signed in Lagos by its Chairperson, Mrs Adenike Shobajo.
It said the women would be trained on Aug. 12 at a business forum, where the Chief Representative of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Mr Tetsuo Seki, would be the guest speaker.
According to the group, the forum will have the theme: “Gender Mainstreaming in Private Sector Development’’.
The group said that the Japanese envoy would focus his presentation on how JICA could collaborate with female members of the LCCI to reach out to women entrepreneurs to boost grassroots development.
It said that Seki would also speak on how to foster bilateral relations between women in Nigeria and their counterparts in Japan to boost cooperation through finance and investment.

The LCCI Women Group noted that JICA had for many years been at the forefront of promoting cooperation on development issues between Nigeria and Japan, especially on poverty eradication and business development.
It said that the forum would also review the activities of the group toward promoting ideas among entrepreneurs.
The group that the outcome of the forum would boost activities of entrepreneurs at local and international levels.
Many outstanding female entrepreneurs in Nigeria are expected to grace the one-day event, which will attract captains of industries.
The Women Group of the LCCI is charged with responsibility of coordinating the activities of female members of the body in the promotion of their businesses and key projects of the LCCI. (NAN)
