Garuba, of Itolo Street, off Eric Moore Road, Surulere, Lagos, is facing a charge of assault.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Gabriel Ekundayo, told the court that the accused committed the offence on the street at about 9: 00pm on Feb.16.
Ekundayo said that the accused, who had a quarrel history with the complainant, one Isaac Agabus; also a security man, used a knife to inflict injury on his back.

“There was a suya seller who hawked along their street; while Agabus was bargaining the price of suya, the accused, who was also waiting to buy, scolded the complainant to stop bargaining.
‘’The accused said that the suya was more than okay for the price the seller wanted to sell it, hence the fight,” he said.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes Section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Garuba, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. M.I. Dan-Oni, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
She said that the surety must be gainfully employed and should provide evidence of tax payment.
