EDE – Ahead of the August 9 election in Osun State a security expert, Alhaji Hassan Hussein, has called on politicians in the state to exhibit the spirit of tolerance.
Hussein made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ede, Osun.
He said peace was critical to development, urging residents to see the election as a means of boosting good governance.
The security expert, who attributed the relative peace in Osun to political maturity displayed by stakeholders, advised residents to sustain the tempo.
‘’We are presently at a very critical period in our political journey. Although we have had some challenges in the past as a state, but we have been able to surmount them without blemish.
‘’As we are going into gubernatorial election in the next few weeks, I want to appeal to political stakeholders to play politics according to the rules.
“Nothing should be paramount in the minds of everybody now than the stability of the state. No one gains from a chaotic environment, ” he said. (NAN)
