Tripoli – Gunmen on Friday abducted four foreigners in Libya, the state electricity company said.
The electricity company said the four men were Turkish and South African nationals who work at a power station in Libya’s southern town of Obari.
They were abducted on their way from the Obari airport to the facility.
The company condemned the act as “savage’’ and called for immediate release of the four foreigners.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the abduction.
Libya descended into chaos since the 2011 overthrow of long-time Muammar Gaddafi.
The North African country is divided by three rival governments – two in the capital Tripoli and one in Tobruk in eastern Libya.(dpa/NAN)
