There is increasing worry over the disappearance of Comrade Igboayaka Igboayaka, the President of the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), who was reportedly abducted by gunmen in Owerri, Imo State.
Eyewitnesses said the incident happened on Saturday around 7 p.m. at Works Layout, where gunmen dressed in black, driving a Sienna and a Lexus SUV, intercepted and forcefully took Igboayaka away in a dramatic scene.
Since his disappearance, his family, friends, and OYC members have been unable to reach him through his mobile phones, raising concerns about his safety.
According to Blueprint, there is speculation that his abduction may have been carried out by security operatives, possibly due to his outspoken criticism of the government.
However, the Imo State Police Command has neither confirmed nor denied any involvement. The police spokesperson, DSP Henry Okoye, has not released any statement on the incident.
