Gunmen kill herbalist in Ondo

Tragedy struck in the ancient town of Ifira, Akoko Southeast local government Saturday when a 36-year-old herbalist called Omotayo Omo Akin was gunned down by yet to be known assassins.

A source the neighbouring house of the slain herbalist revealed that the late Omo Akin was called phone to come out by his assailants and he came out and he was shot immediately.

The deceased, a polygamist two wives who resided in Isowo Quarters, Ifira Akoko was described as very humble and hospitable with a moderate lifestyle.

The police Isua-Akoko led by Divisional Police Officer,(DPO)Superintendent of Police(SP) Olowoyo Akinbode led his to the scene of the incident and carried the corpse to the mortuary of the General Ipe-Akoko.

According to Akinbode, the case will be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department(CID)Akure for more investigation.

The Asiwaju of Ifira Akoko, Chief Boboye Ojomo described the incident as shocking and another period of mourning for the entire Ifira community.

He appealed to security agents to do thorough findings that will lead to the tracking of the assailants.
