A pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Lubo community, Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State, Buba Galadima, was killed by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers.
The attackers reportedly stormed the pastor’s residence around 1 a.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2025. According to sources in the community, Galadima was shot in the back while trying to escape.
The spokesperson for the Gombe State Police Command, Buhari Abdullahi, confirmed the incident, stating that it was an armed robbery attack, not a bandit attack.
“The issue is a robbery because they entered into the house at night. Maybe they attempted to rob him, but unfortunately, from the way he was shot at the back, it seems he was trying to escape,” Abdullahi said.
Following the incident, Gombe State Commissioner of Police, Bello Yahaya, visited the hospital where the pastor’s body was kept. He also deployed a special squad of police officers to the area to track down those responsible for the crime.
