Gwandu Association earmarks N10m to boost education in rural areas

gecBIRNIN KEBBI – Gwandu Emirate Development Association (GEDA) Kebbi has earmarked N10 million to boost in areas.

of association, Alhaji Abubakar Ladan, said this after he had inspected some ongoing projects in Birnin-Kebbi, on Thursday. Ladan said association had embarked on the of 16 classrooms, hostels, dining hall and staff quarters in primary and boarding secondary in Bulasa.

He said association would ensure that development of sector in the emirate conformed to efforts being made by the state .

Ladan said the association would pay the tuition fees of in tertiary institutions from the emirate, adding that any investment in profitable.

He said a new secretariat being built and would have office spaces and a hall that would be generating income for the association.

The association, he added, had selected some scholars to compile a comprehensive history of the emirate from 1805 to date.

Ladan, however, appealed to the of the emirate and the state to embrace formal and vocational education so that they could become self-reliant.(NAN.
