KANO- An Islamic cleric, Dr Bashir Aliyu has urged intending Muslim pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj to uphold the sanctity of the spiritual exercise by demonstrating discipline, patience and obedience to laid-down guidelines.
Aliyu, who is the Chief Imam of Al-Furqan Juma’at Mosque in Kano made the call in his Friday sermon.
He said Hajj was not merely a physical journey but a deeply spiritual obligation that requires total submission to the will of Allah and respect for the laws of the host country.
“Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and it must be undertaken with the fear of Allah, humility and the intention to return spiritually renewed,” he said.
He advised pilgrims to avoid acts capable of tarnishing the image of Nigeria and Islam, and to always comply with the instructions of Hajj officials.
“Pilgrims must shun any form of misconduct, remain united and exhibit the noble qualities of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) throughout the exercise,” he said.
The cleric also urged the pilgrims to be good ambassadors of their state and Nigeria at large.
Aliyu further enjoined them to pray for peace, stability and progress of the country.
He prayed for a successful and hitch-free pilgrimage for all the intending pilgrims.
