The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the mask is being used by many residents, especially motorcyclists, to cover their mouths and noses, to avoid inhaling dust or fog.
A survey in Kano metropolis showed hawkers of the commodity were making huge sales due to the high demand of the commodity from the people.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
One of the hawkers, Malam Musa Bala, told NAN that he made more than N3,000 daily from the sales.
“The business is moving these days because I sell between three to four packets of the commodity and other items such as hand gloves,” he said.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]

“A pack of the commodity which costs N700 before is now being sold at between N900 and N1,000 due to its high demand.
“Few weeks back before it became scarce, a piece of mask cost N10 but now it costs between N20 and N50 depending on the quality,” he said.
It was observed that the number of hawkers had also increased. (NAN)
