He said there was no alternative to digitalising the management of records, financial system and communication to the public.
Aji said the centre was a service wide policy to enhance public service delivery and improve implementation of government projects and programmes.
He said that the centre was approved by Permanent Secretaries in the civil service, adding that it would be replicated in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government.
“It is a global trend and Nigeria will not be left out; that’s the reason why the body of Permanent Secretaries approved that we should begin this project.
“ After today’s ceremony, a replication of the centre in the MDAs will commence; we have already issued directive to the MDAs,’’ he said. [eap_ad_1] He said MDAs that do not have the required budgetary provision to set up the centre should make provision for their 2015 budget.

Earlier, Mr Yemi Adelakun, the Permanent Secretary, Common Service Office, in the office of the HOCSF, said the centre was aimed at providing better and quick service to the public.
“Nigerians are increasingly expecting high quality, prompt services delivered electronically, online and where possible. in real time .
“On the other hand, government expects value for money on public expenditure, less bureaucracy and improved project implementation,” he said.
Adelakun said the expectations could be achieved through communicating and listening to feedback through digital channels; using social media to consult, engage and create awareness.
He said the process was necessary to communicate with citizens and curtail traveling long distances to provide and receive services.
Adelakun said the centre would digitalise records, products and services and make them accessible online.
He said the centre would also enable government to promote transparency, accountability, stewardship, improve revenue generation and promote quality of life of Nigerians. (NAN)
