LAGOS – Heartland FC are to host Sunshine Stars FC of Akure at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, on Sunday in a Week 7 fixture of the 2014/2015 Globacom Premier League.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that so far in the league, Heartland have three wins and a loss from four matches, while Sunshine Stars have three wins and two losses.
Both sit in fifth and seventh positions on the league table with 10 points each will seek to improve on the league standings with the game.
Heartland beat Shooting Stars FC 2-1 in Week 2 on March 15 at Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.
They also defeated Nasarawa United 5-2 at Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri in Week 3 clash and then won 3-1 against Kwara United in Week 4 encounter at Ilorin on April 19.
However, Heartland also lost 0-1 to Abia Warriors in Owerri in Week 5 fixture, they would be looking to win at home against Sunshine Stars of Akure to restore balance to thier home win tally.
Heartland’s Media Officer Cajetan Nkwopara assured their fans of victory in the Week 7 tie.
“We are ready and we will make sure we go all the way as a team to win the match,’’ he told NAN.
Sunshine Stars on the other hand, in fifth place on the league table lost 0-1 to Giwa at Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos on March 22 in Week 3.
They also lost 0-1 to El Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri in Week 5 on April 22 and they have no away win this season but have no home losses compared to Heartland.
They beat Ifeanyi Uba FC 2-1 at home in a Week I fixture on March 15, they also beat Dolphins FC at home on April 19 and defeated Wikki Tourist 3-2 in Week 6 game at home on April 26.
Both teams would be searching for a win to improve thier records and positions on the league table.
A win for Sunshine Stars in Owerri will make it thier first away win of the season or a win for Heartland would take them above Sunshine Stars on the log.
The Head Coach of Sunshine Stars, Kennedy Boboye, will be looking for a first away win from the team’s visit to Dan Anyiam Stadium on Sunday.
“We look forward to play to win, a win will be a morale booster, we are hoping for the best,’’ he said.
For the past three seasons, on a head to head count, Heartland have not been beaten by Sunshine Stars at home, while Sunshine Stars also have not been defeated by Heartland at home.
In 2013/2014 season, Heartland defeated Sunshine Stars 3-0 at home on Oct. 10, while Sunshine Stars drew 2-2 with Heartland in Ibadan on June 6.

Sunshine Stars in 2012/2013 season defeated Heartland 2-1 at home on May 23, while Heartland could only salvage a goalless draw when they hosted Sunshine Stars in Owerri on Sept. 25.
The 2011/2012 season also saw Sunshine Stars winning Heartland 1-0 in Ibadan on Jan. 26, while initiating a 1-1 draw when they visited Heartland on June 23.
Heartland have one win, three draws and two losses in six encounters with Sunshine Stars, while Sunshine Stars have two wins, one loss and three draws on head to head with Heartland.
Other matches that will be played in Week 7 fixtures on Sunday are Ifeanyi Uba vs Enyimba, Giwa FC vs Bayelsa United and Dolphins vs Lobi Stars.
Others are FC Taraba vs Sharks FC, Elkanemi Warriors vs Akwa United and Wikki Tourist vs Enugu Rangers.
Shooting Stars vs Warri Wolves, Nasarawa United vs Abia Warriors and Kwara United vs Kano Pillars with the matches kicking off at 4 p.m. (NAN)
