Abuja (Sundiata Post) – A Nigerian philanthropist and President of Heavenly Elderly Charity Arena (HECHARENA) Foundation, Osinigwe Ezenwanyi Vera Ikokwu, has expressed her condolences over the demise of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
Recall that the son of the deceased, Jide Iwuanyanwu, had last Thursday, announced the passing of Iwuanyanwu, our correspondent reports.
Jide said his father died at the age of 82.
However, Ikokwu in a statement made available to our correspondent, sent her heartfelt sympathy to the Iwuanyanwu’s family, the people of Imo State, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Igbos in general.
According to her: “I am deeply saddened by the passing of Engr. Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide and a renowned Elder Statesman.
“His demise is a monumental loss to the entire Igbo race and our nation Nigeria.
“He was a visionary leader, a champion of unity, and a tireless advocate for the welfare of his people”.
Ezenwanyi Vera Ikokwu also stated that Iwuanyanwu’s wisdom, counsel, and contributions to the Igbo course would be greatly missed.
“As an Elder Statesman, he played a significant role in shaping the Igbo history and promoting peaceful coexistence among our diverse ethnic groups.
“His legacy will continue to inspire and fuel the Igbo course.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family, Imo State, the Igbo Ethnicity, and all those who mourn his passing,” she added.
