Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Contrary to the reports on several media platforms that Herbert Wigwe’s father, Pastor Shyngle Wigwe dragged his own granddaughter to court, over Herbert’s property and will, an opinion article published on Nairaland online news platform on Saturday by a concerned Nigerian has dismissed it as false.
The writer argued that Pa Wigwe as fondly called instituted a suit against Aigboje Aig-imoukhuede who is his late son’s friend and business partner that gave birth to Access Bank, placing a caveat at the Probate Registry seeking clarity and transparency on the distribution of his son’s estate as outlined in his will.
Aigboje however not happy with the moves made by Pa Wigwe, hurriedly influenced his granddaughter Otutochi Wigwe, also known as Tochi, who is now the eldest siblings and the head of Herbert Wigwe’s family, to approach a magistrate court and sort for the guardian of her younger siblings.
The court granting her the guidance, made it possible for Aigboje through his lawyer, Paul Usoro to join Tochi in the suit filled by her grandfather making it look like Pa Wigwe also took her granddaughter to court.
“Next, 25 year old Tochi, on 9th September, 2024 approached a Magistrates Court, applying for guardianship of her minor siblings. In the circumstances, it has become obvious Tochi’s actions are premeditated and teleguided by someone or group of persons interested in the estate left behind by Herbert. The Shyngle Wigwe family were constrained to institute a caveat on Herberts assets demanding for transparency and clarity regarding the administration thereof”, the opinion article as read on Nairaland said.
It continued: “A now angry Aigboje immediately discontinued all allowances to Herbert’s parents! He reportedly said he would not fund Pa Wigwe to fight him in court and has demanded that all litigation challenging how he has chosen to manage Herbert’s assets must be withdrawn.
“The Wigwe’s have been subjected to a humiliating media campaign designed to embarrass the family with phantom allegations that Herbert’s aged parents and siblings are attempting to interfere with the children’s inheritance. Mainstream and social media has been awash with a sponsored smear campaign especially since the events preceding the first year memorial”, it said.
With information gathered, our correspondent reports that the late Herbert’s children have been pitched against their extended family, making it impossible for their grandparents, aunties and uncles to visit them at their Ikoyi residence.They are now being teleguided by Aigboje who does not want them to have any dealings with the Wigwe”s raising questions that have indicted him of generating controversy in his late friend’s family.
