Abuja – The Hope House Initiative (HHI), an educational support school for children with special needs, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a fund raising for the building of new facilities on Dec. 4.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mrs Amina Atiku Abubakar, a Director of the school and wife of former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abukabar.
The statement was made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja.
Abubakar said that HHI is “a philanthropic, none profit organisation that assist children with learning difficulties to acquire life skills for better control of their lives.’’
She said that the school would use the occasion to launch fundraising for the erection of a new building and provision of state-of-the-art facilities for the students.
The director said that facilities to be constructed include workshops for vocational training, boarding house to provide shelter and security and a physiotherapy laboratory to sustain the vision of HHI.
According to her, the 10th anniversary of the school is also an opportunity to assure parents of children with special needs that their children can be educated to overcome their challenges.
“Hope House, through the personal engagement of parents, commitment of dedicated staff members, assistance of philanthropic individuals and corporations, has developed into an initiative with enviable achievement.

“Today, HHI is growing and needs to reach out to further heights, especially a bigger building with more quality facilities for the benefit of pupils,’’ she said. (NAN)
