Abuja – Hon. Abdulraheem Olawuyi, a member of the House of Representatives, representing
Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-ero Federal Constituency of Kwara state has distributed 500 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms to candidates in the constituency.
Lanre Agas, a Senior Legislative Aide to Olawuyi, disclosed this in a
telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in
Abuja.
He said that the move was part of the promised made by Olawuyi to
contribute his quota to the development of education in the
constituency.
Agas said that the process of selecting candidate was transparent and
thorough, adding that each candidate was to fill a form and present one
result at a sitting.
According to him, interested candidate should have a complete result at
one sitting either from the National Examination Council (NECO) or the
West Africa Examination Council (WAEC).
He said that the lawmaker was poised to lift the standard of education
in the constituency, adding that a programme tagged: ‘’education for all
indigent students” would soon be unveiled.
He said that the programme would focus mainly on students with exceptional brain but with no means of sponsorship.
Agas said that Olawuyi was passionate about the people of his
constituency, especially the youth, and that there would be another
empowerment to artisans who needed assistance.(NAN)
