IKORODU (Lagos) An Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Thursday sentenced a housekeeper, Mr Ikechukwu Ogbonna, to 24 hours community service after he pleaded guilty to stealing charge.
The 32-year-old convict, who resides at Laifaji St., Ijebu Ode Road, Itoikin, Ikorodu, stole a sculpture of Horse from his boss.
Sentencing Ogbonna, the Magistrate, Mr B.A.Sonuga, warned him to desist from stealing and other vices in future.
Ogbonna was apprehended by the Police during a “Stop and Search” duty. [eap_ad_1] The Prosecutor, Insp. Iyabo Johnson, had told the court that the convict was arrested at about 9 p.m. on Aug.10 at Sabo in Ikorodu.
Johnson said that Ogbonna was a housekeeper to one Mr Shina Owuru.
“He took the horse sculpture made of brass in exchange for his salary which his boss owed him,” he said.
Johnson said that the offence contravened section 338 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos state.
NAN reports that section 338 states that an offender is guilty of felony and is liable to three years imprisonment. (NAN)
