Jalingo – Gov. Darius Ishaku of Taraba has expressed the confidence that the Court of Appeal would do justice in an appeal he filed against his removal by the governorship election petitions tribunal for the state.
Ishaku spoke in Jalingo on Monday through the state Attorney- General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Yusufu Akirikwen.
He said the appellate court would do justice by reversing the judgment of the tribunal and uphold his election as governor.
The governor said that his team of lawyers had already appealed the decision of the tribunal which held that he was not a valid candidate of his party, PDP, and returned the APC candidate, Aisha Alhassan.
He said APC, INEC and Alhassan had also filed a cross appeal before the appellate court.
The governor described as “misleading’’ and “untrue’’ the media report that he had “failed to appeal the judgment.’’
