Embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Muazu
The embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, has told the Abia, Imo and Taraba states chapters of the party that he lacked the capacity to “deliver” them in today’s rerun.
Muazu, who made the declaration while answering questions from journalists in Umuahia, Abia State after his visit to Governor Theodore Orji on Thursday, admitted that delivering the states to PDP was only in the hands of God who has the ultimate power to allocate political positions.
Muazu blamed the loss of power by PDP to the opposition All Progressives Congress on what he described as the political tsunami that permeated the Northern region during the March 28 presidential election.
He said, “I am not the one to deliver the states. Delivery of Abia, Imo and Taraba is in the hands of the Deliverer – the Almighty God in heaven. Whoever tells you he will deliver is telling you a bloody lie. It is that same God I pray that he will deliver Abia, Imo and Taraba on April 25.
“I was unable to deliver Bauchi State, so was everybody unable to deliver because of the tsunami that has happened in the North. There was a total political tsunami. But for what has happened, we remain thankful. This is not the end of the world. A man may be defeated in a war but we will live to fight another one tomorrow.”

The PDP chief, however, said that the party would not go into any alliance with the APC’s forthcoming administration.
According to him, PDP will form effective opposition to APC from May 29 rather than forming alliance with it.
Muazu said, “By the special grace of God, we will give them a run for their money. That I can assure under my leadership despite the fact that I am accused of not being an attack dog. They will understand it later. I will wait until such a time when God gives me the opportunity. Then they will know whether or not I am an attack dog.” (Punch)
